I nearly had a TdF moment then!

Whilst out on a lovely 37 mile ride today, I was going down a slight hill but at about 27mph. I was not familiar with the road and was enhancing my knowledge of the area. As I did not know the road layout, I took a corner a little too fast and ended up on the other side of the road. Fortunately I was lucky noone else was coming as it was a quiet country road.
I very nearly ended up in the hedge!

It's not unusual to be caught out on unfamiliar roads.

Same thing happened to me down a fast descend with a 90 degree turn half way down.

Worse thing is I saw the red triangle with 'Low Gear' sign a few times and thought I was in control.

I did something similar last time I was out on an MTB (which I am not used to). Zooming down a hill, off-road, with a bit of a bend at the bottom, put way to much faith in my entry level disc brakes > Face full of vegitation
Luckly nobody for miles around to see.
