My Aigle wellies have lasted ten winters walking dogs over ploughed fields. Still very warm and comfy with neoprene liner intact. Just checked into wellywarehouse and am horrified to find I would now have to pay £125 for them. S’pose after Brexit they’ll be double that. Missus’ pair split and Aigle replaced out of warranty....

Why?

It's sure to rain a lot more post-Brexit, so welly demand will increase, leading to a surge in prices.

We can also look forward to a lot more corked wine and a surge in crop failure.

Then there's the inevitable potato famine, resurgence in tuberculosis, and a repeat of the Great Fire.

Why am I horrified? Why did I check wellywarehouse? Why will they cost more after Brexit?

I wasn’t horrified. It’s a turn of phrase. I was mildly perturbed.
I was trying to log into willywarehouse, but my security settings kicked in.
They probably won’t, but my allusion was to their being made en France. A very inept attempt at humour, for which I am now ashamed and apologetic.

In future, to save me the bother, could you be more specific with your quoting?

I have only had my Aigle ones for a year, but have walked in them pretty much EVERY day for 2+ hours and they are the most comfortable things I have ever put on my feet, and are very warm, I would however, if buying them again, get them without the neoprene lining as it makes them harder to get off. I got them from Amazon which come with a two year warranty.

Waterproof rigger boots for me - fur lined. Can be had for around £20 on an auction site. Does me for garden/dog walking
My wife has a pair of Muck Boots which she wears a lot for dog-walking duties. Probably says something that its her most used footwear.

I bought a pair of Dickies ones a few months ago, and while they were incredibly comfy, (I hate wellies as a rule), when I came to take them off the fur lining came out as well, it stayed attached and basically turned itself inside out, and can I get the daffodils back in so I can wear them? Can I feck, if I could I'd spray some adhesive in and refit them, but I just can't get the damned things to sit right.

Shame as they were mega comfy the one time I was able to wear them.

My right one does that now and then, but not the left. I can get it back in though. Seems to be more an issue with some socks than others.

I have these:

and I have a pair of these (I think):

https://www.dunlopboots.com/en-gb/products/dunlop-acifort-heavy-duty-full-safety--a4422b1

Both are excellent: nice snug fit, excellent grip, and comfortable to walk in. I can rock climb in them (caving) and walk miles (eg to caves up mountains) The metal anti spike thing in the soles helps make them more rigid for walking and climbing. Min have steel toe caps toowhich I'm less bothered about but you cant have the steel insoles without the toe caps.

Sensible money compared to huntin' shootin' fishin' brands and excellent products

The Dunlop ones? Horrendous. Badly made and very uncomfortable, like they've been designed by someone who has never seen a human foot.
TBH I don't know, I went into the Sheffield shop today to see if they had any Muddyfox bib shorts & on the way out I saw them on the shelf with a price, I didn't take any further notice, but I did think there was more than 1 option, but might be wrong
