Of course, its ironic i've always wanted(and probably other too) to weigh a bit more.
5ft10, 10.5 stone, edging towards low on the ideal BMI scale for my height/weight. I'd love to be 1/2 stone heavier.

I'm not skinny...but it caused some laughter a while ago after a conversation at work that inferred i was. I went into an office full of girls and said 'do you think i'm skinny ?'...
The reply came from every one of them...'oh yes..you're skinny'

A Its amazing how many people say to her...you look too skinny.

It's all about your build, now if I was a size eight I'd have to get myself a pair of those stripey jim jams they wore in concentration camps.

I'm sure supermarket clothing ranges are a ploy to sell more pies, they rarely have small sizes and even when they do they go around me twice!
But then I've always been slim and then I took up cycling.

As an indication...SWMBO has lost some considerable weight this last year and is now a size 8. She constantly says it's difficult to find clothes in size 8, the racks are full of 12/14/16/18s...and larger.

I'm a size 8 (or smaller). M&S standard size 8 is too big for me (and 'petite' seems to mean 'short but round'); so I can't even shop there!

OTOH, if you go shop in (eg) Selfriges, suddenly the clothes are designed for tall stick insects. I spent a very frustrating day looking for a suit about a year back
Don't even start on my hunt for jeans.

Also, I was completely disgusted to see M&S selling pre-cooked baked potatoes. FFS. All they were were potatoes, with cheese on. Now you're going to have to reheat the buggers anyway, so might as well have done them from scratch! Take potato, stab with knife, put in microwave, add cheese, eat. Almost as bad as pre-cooked rice.

BMI makes me chuckle - I'm obese on the scale.

I'm 6ft 4 and 18 stone. Think back row rugby forward, I have a 38 waist and no flab. According to the charts I should be 14 stone.

There isn't 4 stone of me to go!

Yep - BMI is so crude a measure it's worthless. Your waist measurement is a more accurate measure of fitness.

I love looking in the fatties trolleys - it makes you want to say out loud "no wonder you're so huge!" Having said that, I saw a lady recently with a podgy kid in the child-seat and she was loading up the sugary cereals and already had cream cakes and other rubbish in there - the poor kid didn't have a chance of being slim if the mother only offered that cr*p.

My kids were never been offered sugary cereal every day and still don't put sugar on their cereal either (rice krispies, cornflakes, shreddies etc). They are 15 & 17 and don't miss what they don't know. Having said that, when they were younger their weekend treat was one of those individual boxes of coco-pops or something else similar as their Sunday morning fancy breakfast!
