Very bad idea in my opinion. With a surname of Butler I've lost count of how many quips have been made to me, fortunately as time has gone by these have become less and less as the programme has been forgotten!
It was ok, of its time and an unusual sitcom for ITV to be so popular even in those particularly non PC times. I was a spotty kid back then, I liked the character Blakey because I could impersonate him which made folk laugh.
I can't imagine a remake working, the PC brigade will have killed all the gags.
It was ok in it's day (except for Olive and Arthur - they were never ok), but I watched part of one of the films recently and it was the most borring thing ever. Some things are just best left in their era.
There won't be any 'on the bus' banter, as they're single-person operated. It'll just be am opinionated driver going round trying to kill cyclists, putting his feet on the dash, and telling bemused grannies that they can't use their passes till 9am.

I think Hasselhoff would be more suited to Olive.
