It might be a long story.

So today three of us go out for lunch.Nandos is the place we visited.So at 13-01 the order is placed and a till receipt obtained.Our table is facing the servery,the staff are working their socks off.Trouble is there are only two staff taking food to tables.So i see three dinners placed next to each other on the heating shelf.I watch countless single and double orders going out,but these three dinners keep getting ignored.I am fascinated,so i begin to time them.I notice the servers looking at a paper on top of the food.It is now 13-22 the three dinners have been standing for eight mins.More food goes out.Then two portions of corn on the cob are placed on two of the dinners.They are picked up and they are coming to our table.Oh this is where i open up.Excuse me these three dinners have been sat waiting for nearly ten mins.They only moved when the two corn on the cobs arrived.My wife and her sister pointed out how cold their chips were.We sent them back,the replacement food arrived just after 13-42,i am sure i got the same wrap that came earlier.The wrap was cold and soggy.But we needed to be somewhere else very soon,
It's the first time i can remember ever standing up and sending food back.

You did the right thing. Trouble is, most don't do so.

I hope you didn't pay! I have done this once and it scared the hell out of me but I knew I was in the right. We should all do it from time to time when the service/food is diabolical!

EDIT: When I say I didn't pay I don't mean I did a runner! I told them that it was utter shite, had ruined my meal/evening and I was not going to pay them for the privelage!

Cheeky Nandos. About time more people stood up to them.

I have sent food back before and refused to pay, there is no excuse for poor service and food from a foid establishment. We are within our rights as paying customers. I have also left a scathing review which was taken down pretty quickly but I just posted the truth.

My kids have dragged me into places like this.At first i was not happy,i was grumpy,(get it) but once i found a meal i liked i am ok with it.There are a number of Nandos here in Leeds,and i have never had trouble with any of the others.Headingley is my fave,it is so small,then Kirkstall and even one in Preston.This one we have used before,and the chips were crap then.Something made me keep an eye out to see how long food was waiting on the hot tray.Our food got pushed about a few times while the corn on the cob appeared.We did pay,A voice said thank you hope to see you again,as we left.Under my breath i said,not if i can help it.

Unfortunately, in a Nando you pay before the food arrives so you've lost your negotiating position and gone from "I'm not paying" to "Please may I have a refund"

We were having scampi & chips the other day and we were unhappy with the size of the portions. Only 6 pieces of scampi. We complained to the waitress and she in turn went back to the manager who asked the chef how many pieces there should be. He said 6 and had always dished out 6, but they checked their menu guidelines and it said 8.

They were very apologetic and thanked us, so that future customers would not get small portions. They also knocked something off the bill. Apart from that, the pub (the Stanley Gate near Ormskirk) and staff were really nice and we will be going back on our next visit to Merseyside.

We went to Nandos once, what a disappointing meal it was.

Tasteless would be the best way describe it..

Isn't there some weird ruling that you should pay them for the raw ingredients
