Ouch. I went down just like that yesterday, only I was off road so just bounced across the grass. Hope you and the bike are both ok, Gaz.

Only damage to the bike is a slight buckle in the front wheel. should be an easy fix.
I've got a sprained wrist but thats it.

Happened as you crossed the white line?

I had a bit of a bucking bronco slidey weavyness due to clipping a white line of a cycle lane a while back.

Had a similar off today going down a grass bank in the rain front wheel went and went down on my left handside, result sore hip elbow and shoulder.

Luckly i think my landing was softer then yours Gaz.

That's impressive. I was expecting the drain cover or whatever it was you were heading towards to unseat you but you just seemed to go over for no reason!

You didn't have a sideways wobble due to grooves in the path/draincover pointing the same direction as you? I have a shared pavement stretch made out of those concrete squares and I get into a good wobble sometimes if the wheels line up on the grooves.

Hell's Teeth! I'm going to be a bit less cavalier now. Thanks for posting.

Thing is, it's one of those spills that can happen completely out of the blue... just have to a bit more aware rather then less cavalier.. though of course being less cavalier will help also..
