I saw a woman the other day who's quite a bit older than me, who i had a bit of a crush on when i was a teenager. She now walks with a zimmer frame.

Flatulence is definitely more of an issue than I remember it being back in the day. The occasional parp, one expects, of course; but these days some days - and it seems to bear little or nor relation to what I've eaten - I'm disconcertingly reminiscent of a colleague's comment on a boozy client: 'Not a chap to light a match close to.'

For me though it was in the hospital on Friday with daughter, she has to have surgery on her back next year but I no longer sign consent forms for her....

I think I am getting old for 2 reasons:

1) My former employer has written to me, offering to start my pension next Spring.....

2) I am now just about the same age as my Dad was when he died. And he had lived with heart trouble for the last 15 years or so of his life, whereas I (fingers crossed) am still more or less sound in wind and limb.
