lot of dough for a commuter bike, they have to take some stick from the roads, spec in winter, and the off chance of hitting something hard

and might get nicked

Oops it the diem drop disc, saw it at my LBS.

Luckily I wouldn't have worries about it being nicked as my bikes are never left out in public. However it is academic as I wouldn't be able to afford it anyway!
