(As some will recall from my post earlier this week about swapping MTB tyres & wheels around, I have the need to do some road cycling. I still intend swapping the MTB tyres around for narrower ones. As I do go on a few roads between my home and the canal path, these narrower tyres will be better I feel). Thank you to all who commented.

So, I decided that I did not want to be the “richest man in Rotherham cemetery” lol. Also as I seem to use the bike on more occasions than I use the car, I have placed an order for a Rose bike.

A free phone number is provided on their website. The phone is always answered in German language. I always respond to their greeting with something like “good afternoon from the United Kingdom”. This prompts the person to immediately begins speaking in English.

After discussing all my queries, I phoned the credit card company and told them of my intended purchase as I did not want any hassle of a blocked transaction. (I rarely use this card and as the amount was quite high I figured I would smooth the way).

I initially attempted to order using the Rose website/system. Once you have selected your bike, there is the opportunity to swap & change the bike components. In my case I just changed the standard saddle to a soft gel one, for an extra £6. I also selected the most appropriate frame size that the guy I had spoken to advised me on. I decided that having pedals on a bike is quite a good idea, so I purchased a pair. These pedals were some that the guy at Rose had recommended, so I had the item reference number. As the bike does not come with pedals I could not use the swap & change facility. Going back to the search box to locate the pedals and adding to the basket seemed to cock everything up.

I was now getting frustrated with the site in respect of the above issue. I should say at this point that the issue could have been with me-the juries still out. So, I decided to phone Rose and place the order verbally, which went very smoothly. Their English is much better than my German, and they are very helpful & patient.

Finally, after paying with the card, I was informed that I would also need to email some ID. I simply took a photo of my passport and emailed it using the reply email that the order confirmation had come through on. Apparently the bike takes about 2 weeks to arrive. When it arrives I shall take photos of everything, and will write a full review on here with the photos. I feel optimistic.

Welcome to the Rose club.! Which bike did you choose ?

Have to admit that I didn't actually think of ordering the bike and other parts together and I purchased all the other gear (mainly clothing) on a separate order. Guess the advantage for you is that they will fit the pedals. Seems you got a very speedy delivery, I definitey ordered my bike at the wrong time of year.

I got a Rose a few months back now. You certainly get a lot of bike for your money. Couldn't fault the delivery but it did take about 4 weeks to arrive I think. Checking the delivery status can be quite frustrating as it said something like "With UK Carrier" for about a week once it had arrived in the UK!

They certainly have some sort of showroom down South (Wiltshire maybe), where you can try bikes out for fit etc. i don't think they sell from there though. They'er assembled to your specifications in Germany

I also have a Rose which I love, anybody else thinking of ordering make sure you register for Rose points before placing the order. Then you can get some freebies at a later date. OP what bike have you ordered?

I’ve ordered the Multiroad pro SL2000 (which has flat handle bars). It may come at 2 weeks, but I’ll reserve judgement until it actually arrives. I won’t start checking up on the delivery status until we get to 2 weeks, then I start to get a bit anxious with things like that.

A few months ago I asked Rose customer service if they had retailer in the UK. I was given a (mobile) contact number for a place in Bradford West Yorks. It rang when I called it, but I never managed to get anyone to answer. I tried a few times and on some occasions it appeared that I was purposely being cut off. You know, like the recipient was in a meeting or something. I eventually gave up.

I`ll certinly be honest with the feedback. I would not want to be any other way as that would be simply wrong.

How exactly does that points thing work? I'm looking at spending quite a lot of money with Rose and I don't really understand what I'm going to get regarding the freebies!

Op I have the Pro SL 3000 and it's fantastic I'm sure yours will be as well. Regarding the points, you register for the points card, which isn't actually a physical card just an online one. You then spend your own money. After I think two weeks you can then spend your free points on whole items only, so you can't use them to go towards an item if you don't have enough. I have got lots of little freebies using mine.

I've applied for and received the online card so that side should be sorted. Is it X amount per pound spent our do you get X amount depending on what you buy which is predetermined?
