They're bloody nuts
Sitting in the garden, there's a small group of 5 or 6 swallows wheeling and darting about just above the houses, chasing each other i think, with a non stop excited screaming coming from them all. Its like a playful dogfight :biggrin:

Watched them for ages...stupid smile all over my face

They are excellent little fliers, used to watch them for ages in a field near an old house and then a bit further up the road swooping to drink from a reservoir.

Swifts are interesting birds too - of the same family as Swallows, House Martins and said Swifts.

Swifts often are around come a thunder storm.

Swallows are interesting mainly thru' the colours, of them. House Martins navy & Blue Swift's charcoal colour - after leaving the nest a Swift does everything on the wing (flying) EVERYTHING - if you see a swift land then your are pretty lucky !

Being an avian pedant, I have to point out that though swifts look superficially like housemartins and swallows, they are actually an example of coalescent evolution... evolving through a different line, but looking similar...
