That's exactly what people said about Hondas when they first started appearing in the early 70's. "Jap Crap" was what they were called and they would never last. It didn't quite work out that way.
I'm all for it if they could use quality materials and a well finished product, some well respected companies have plants in China with correct quality control.
Most of the bikes I come across from there are garbage unfortunately, I've seen them from the inside out not just the shiny fairings and cheap price tags..
Not to everyones liking but I'm a fan/owner of triumphs, tiger sports and speed triple after years of japanese sports bikes. GSXR 750 k7, ZX10r 2005, ZX636's,Hondas etc etc I really like them and the bonnevilles, thruxtons or scramblers are nice

I had a john bloor special Speed triple but traded for a tiger sport as the wife wanted to go pillion. The S3 was stunning and my favourite but suspension made it uncomfortable as hell. The tiger is a speed triple on stilts and I ride it more than any bike I have owned. Be sad to see the 1050 engine go if Euro emmissions kill it off but as you say a real peach of an engine
