Tell me about it. I have a Saab!
I'm an ex SAAB main dealer mechanic, The service manager set up his own SAAB workshop in Leicester 30 years ago when the owner of Status Garages decided to retire. The workshop is still there, now run by his 2 sons and they never seem stuck for any spares. However most garages have not got a clue when it comes to working on them or where to source parts for these iconic cars.

Try getting the correct brake pads, today, for a 2000 Mitsubishi L200 4Life. You'll be lucky to ever get them at all. No wonder so many people ride bikes.
Not today, but I can get a set within 24 hours ;)

I ordered from Germany - i dont feel its an 'old part for an old model' is the mindset here...to upgrade would cost me AT LEAST 300 quid... thats a nice mortgage payment, or EVEN buy a bloody motor, lol - if youre on the moaning slant - which i well and truly arent.... ;)

First world problem not being able to get a cadence sensor the same day. Hardly essential for cycling . I've got one for the 800, never used it and managed several thousand miles since getting the garmin...which in itself is hardly essential for cycling

Can't you count and use a stopwatch?

Multi tasking, that is asking a bit too much from some of us.

What got me about the OP was it seemed they could get it today but not for the price they wanted to pay.

Ditto. But my local specialist has a nice collection of hard-to-find parts :okay:
We have Hagstrom Saab up the road from us. An independent Saab dealer and a proper enthusiast so we feel pretty hopeful that we can get most bits and pieces  We pop by for a cuppa from time to time and give them chocolates every time they do any sort of work for us.
