And I'd just like a bit of a sound off really.

The roads were a bit like riding off-road...in fact Ive rode fire-tracks in North Wales smoother...

The driving is defensive - I dont care if I nearly kill you its a 'I'm getting somwhere..and don't care whom I take out on the way wherever Im going', mostly non-essential car journey.

So obviously, that means that people need to get off their fat backsides instead of hiding in their cars..Mr of Mrs lazy ****er...

And if they don't do it then they need to be kicked out of the vehice: big deal if they'e paid god knows what tax or god knows how much for petrol.

The roads are really dangerous out their - how can people treat each and live their lives in such a manner or are people soo far up themselves they cannot see that !

Maybe I need to emigrate somewhere more enigmatic and optimistic !

Lee.

I saw some bad driving out there today, I was driving down a hill over a long narrow bridge with a speed camera on it. I was behind a car which was behind a cyclists doing around 28mph.. coming up the hill was a car and a bus. The car in front decided the best time to overtake is last minute and only just squeeze through the gap between the cyclists and the bus. I was shocked, The car then stuck in traffic further down the hill, purposely moved across closer to the pavement so the cyclists couldn't get through.

Some people are knobs, no matter what kind of transport they take, they still act like they rule the road.

Come up to Lancashire; I rode 55 miles yesterday and I reckon I saw about 10 cars.

Ok Yeah - and the others are m.cyclists trying to kill themselves, yeah

if you ride in Surrey the kind of events you describe occur three or four times per 10 miles. Between Woking and Guildford is a nightmare.

I've given up getting angry and laugh and merrily wave at the idiots now.

Yenners, you are cycling in one of the most densely populated parts of one of the most densely populated countries in the world. As I wrote above, move to Lancashire; we have room for everybody and the kinds of events you describe are rare. The only time I've been in conflict with cars is when I've been out with the MTB club and we've been, er, occupying the road a little in a group.
