I went down the inside of an articulated lorry today!

Shows how easy it is to do, when we sit and shake our heads at people who we see doing it

Okay, I wasn't "filtering". I turned left, well behind the lorry, which pulled onto the opposite side of the road and slowed to walking pace. It's a normal pull in for lorries at the small units, especially curtain siders like this one, so that they can unload by the side of the road.

As I passed it suddenly set off moving again and swing it's cab over to the left and across the road

It wasn't a "close shave" as it was all done very slowly but it reminded me how easy it is to think "can't believe how people go down the inside of lorries"

If its confession time then I went through a red light the other day

It is a right turn only light and a scally on a dirt bike pulled up on my left. I was nervous about what he was going to do as there was another moped on my right. So I pulled away as the other phase went to red, but only realised 1/2 way through the junction my light still wasn't green. I was lucky nothing was coming from the direction where the light was green.

Goes to show that knowing an area and thinking you know the light phases, if you get flustered or take things for granted you find yourself doing something silly

Just don't do it with a set of railings on your inside, that seems to be the efficient way to get squashed.

We all do daft things sometimes and 99 times out of 100 get away with them.

I did it once in late 70's when I was a student in Cardiff. I think it was here but I've not been back to Cardiff since 1979 so things have changed.
As I remember it was 2 lanes. Left was for left and straight on. Right was for straight ahead only.
I was going left and lorry in front was also in left lane but not indicating. Lights went green for left only. Lorry didn't move. I gave him about 30 seconds (not long enough) and set off up his inside. As I got level with his rear wheel he set off. I had fence to my left so had nowhere to go. Jammed on the brakes and bounced off his back tyre. Only saved by the fact that it was raining and I had a nylon coat on not my usual denim jacket.

Never done anything as stupid again. I tell this story to kids at school from time to time to make them think how close you can come to death so easily.

I went up the left hand side of a skip truck yesterday. However I stopped to make sure he was indeed out of the cab as I thought I'd seen on my approach. Had seen the drivers door open well beforehand.
