.......I could play one hundreth as well as those musicians in the Transatlantic Sessions, then I'd be a thousand times better than I am. BBC4 just ending now, a repeat of series 3, stonking, got to be my favourite music programme.

Agreed. It has been the most compulsive series on the electric fishtank for years IMHO. I love Irish music and this series has widened my appreciation to Scottish folk too. Karen Matheson in particular has me mesmerised. What a superb voice.

I sincerely hope they produce a new series.

Series 2 Maura O'Connell and "Blue Train" did it for me.

I took a pal along to Sedburg Folk Festival last year and Julie Fowlis was playing. He is now totally besotted by her.

She is really good though I prefer Karine Polwart

Karine's not in the same league imo, but each to their own and all that Vernon.
You should check out Emily Smith if you haven't already.. another great Scottish vocalist.
