I did the south west cotner as a fly drive walking in 2009. An absolutely stunning place and wonderful welcoming people.

Just found this on t'interweb

Looks like the old folk are a bit uppity!

Last year we saw Sigur Ros live twice, fantatsic.

As TVC said in an earlier post very friendly people, utterly stunning scenery. As we are walkers we have waterproof gear so we put our hoods up and walked directly into a waterfall and just stood there under the raging torrent, brilliant fun

My Sister and BiL went fairly recently and report that, since their economic melt-down, prices (which used to be very high) are much the same as the UK now. :bravo: They really enjoyed it too.

Some of the kids at my daughter's sixth form are just back and she said there were lots of photos of the Northern Lights! She's very jealous, and I must admit it is somewhere I would like to go.

staying here

http://ioniceland.is/

Only there for three days I have a few work things booked but have planned a Jeep tour, blue lagoon, northern lights tour and Reykjavik.

off to Luton for early flight in an hour...
Nice looking hotel, we stayed in Hveregerdi just down the road from Selfoss, lots of stuff to see in that area, you will want to go back.
We are currently planning to br in Reykjavic for new year 2015/16.

Enjoy
