The ride home was nice, 20 mins quicker than the ride in:biggrin:

Yep, mine was 15 mins quicker and even had a bit of sun:smile:

What if its a hill and a head wind.. it was seriously hard going in some places and then going downhill it was a good 5 mph than normal. I've had 2 weeks of doing long distances for me... so my legs are very achy.

Don't know about that, probably hit the granny ring and struggle.

Even worse ... I went to get the bike out this morning and the P***** fairy obviously paid a visit (can't see the offending item at the moment) ... no time to fix now ... so I know what I'm doing after work.

At least I have the second bike for just such emergencies.

Had one on Monday I had to fix during my lunch break - it was a self sealing patch (free with my pump) I'd put on the previous week that had come off. I'll be sticking with glue in the future:biggrin:

In complete contrast to yesterday, today was beautiful: blue skies, calm, little bit of mist in the trees, Autumn colours. I went real slow just so I could take the time to appreciate it all. And did an extra couple of miles round the lake near work ..

Its when I'm pedalling downhill and still struggling to reach double figures that I remember how much I like the wind.

A word to the wise on the self-adhesive patches: they're much fussier about the tube being really clean - rub vigorously all round with the hem of your t-shirt - but go easy on the sandpaper...a *very* light abrasion is plenty.
