but it's absolutely freezing! It's dry and I do have winter kit (gloves, merino, buff, overtights) but I just don't think I'll survive.

Despite having ample insulation, I don't do well with the cold - I was stood at a bus stop the other day with my teeth chattering! :cold: I know I'll probably warm up in time and probably end up too hot, but the first 10 minutes of hypothermia worry me

Inspire me!

Don't let any limiting beliefs stop you from going out and cycling!

No idea of the temperature here this morning ,i do know the puddles at the side of the road were iced over, i had a compression base layer, winter jersey and a gilet and i did not sweat a lot .Nice biting wind with a few flakes of snow so i did chicken out on the reliability club run and just did my 24 mile loop .Only my feet and hand were cold even with 2 pairs of gloves ,thick socks and overshoes but not cold enough to be a problem.

Ended up being "a man" and did a 40 miles. Bib shorts, SS jersey and a wind jacket. If you are getting cold, you are not riding hard enough.

only my hands and feet and as posted on other threads i suffer with them anyway so i can be sweating and still be in pain., thumb joints currently swollen as well and i am not sure if the cold has set them off.

Yeah, my feet where very cold by the end. But I didn't have any overshoes on. My hands where fine, but I was wearing sealskinz gloves.

Funny that, I saw quite a few, and a friendly lot for a change almost everyone said hi, not that there are many that dont around here, just seemed a higher proportion, maybe the weather had something to do with it.
Only thing that got cold was my toes.
I was surprised how few i saw, mainly because i was riding towards Richmond Park and there's always a few going there on a Sunday.
