There was a national campaign sometime ago that recommended everyone put "ICE" before a contact on your phone. The emergency services know who to contact In Case of Emergency.

lol, no ones ever told me that! Maybe the Ambo guys know about it:smile:

RoadID, looks like their customer service is spot on, although for a day or two I was worried I might have screwed up dealing with a non UK company. I've got the RoadID and a spare strap. came in under the £18 for customs and was also marked as 'gift'. IMO shouldn't attract any taxes.

I thought most people were smart enough to have a screen lock on their phones to stop people ringing up hundreds of pounds on premium calls/phone payments etc when it gets stolen.

Since getting knoked off my bike I have tried to carry id with me at all times, not just on the bike. I haven't always been very good at this so I'm definitely thinking of getting a bracelet or dogtags that I can just wear all the time and forget about. Despite my slackness in adhering to it I think it is important to carry some id and something with a bit of info on it.

I have an "able-label" with name address & phone number on it stuck inside the flip cover of my phone. So although the phone is locked, there's still a contact number.

I have to carry an epi pen as well as an I'd card , medical alert , ice details etc.
For anyone considering carrying id I would recommend looking googling medical alert and many forms of id can be found for a few pounds.
Whilst you don't have to include medical info these cards provide vital information etc and very durable and long lasting.

I have used the non-technical method - typed up some contact names (and their relationship to me) on a bit of paper and laminated it.

Problem is my work phone auto-locks too quickly (forced by domain policy) so would be useless for someone to use for emergency contcat purpose.

Phones have to be able to call 999 from the lock screen by law. If you mean family or something, they can wait till the services arrive.

I don't carry a phone or a driving licence, just a mini wallet with some cards and cash. I'm sure somebody can work out where I come from if something bad happens.
