Ideas for a few days enroute to La Marmotte

Hi Can anyone recommend good easy cycle areas to visit before we arrive at Alp d'huez. Travelling by car via Caen. Was thinking of revisiting the Vercor area unless anyone has any other suggestions.
We've got 5 days to travel/relax before the arrive in the Alps on Thursday.
