I have 12 stained glass top sashes removed from some 1930s bay windows. They are really nice and I would like to do something creative with them. One idea was to have some of the panels incorporated into an existing west facing landing window in our property. It gets a lot of lovely warm light when the sun sets on an evening. However on enquiring I have been quoted £1700 for such a project. Although It would look really nice we cant justify that type of expense. Any other ideas greatly appreciated.

Have you got any doors you could put them in?

We had a large stained glass window in a return landing, and another round one in a dining room in a previous house, they looked great.

If you have a local art studio type of place ,you could try there for ideas and getting something done.

I work with glass as a hobby. It would be worth having a look to see if there is an adult education class for stained glass near you. That's how I learnt. The teachers are usually local artists that could advise you or maybe even take a commission at half the price.

Absolutely no bloody use at all ... but google "qamariya", for a wee bit of insight into the stained glass that is such a classic element of domestic and public architecture in Yemen.

Why don't you sell most of them to an architectural salvage firm and keep a couple of future ideas? Yes they can be sandwiched inside DG units, we still have a couple left from the previous owner of our house.
