Cricket - Allow baseball style pitching instead of bowling.

That's called a "beamer" in Cricket.

Actually, I remember a baseball v cricket thing in the 1980s, and that the baseball players were terrified by fast bowling, as it's way faster and more hostile than what they face in a game.

Baseball pitches are every bit as fast as a fast ball in cricket, I reckon it would be the bounce and the ball coming at their body that the baseball players would have trouble with.

As someone who's fenced all three weapons, I can safely say it will quickly descend into something rather Monty Python-esque. Wooden fence slats would be more fun, as they'd actually shatter.

Metal railings would be too owie, especially if replacing sabres...

I was imagining very large fighters having a go at each other with fence panels, the aerodynamics would make the fight interesting.

True Story, I worked with an old bloke who was actually the bosses girlfriends father and had become a Jehovah's Witness although I think it was his wife who'd got religion and he just went along with it cos when we were working away he'd have a pint or two with us.

Downhill Skiing should only take place in locations where the avalanche warning level is at least 4 (high). Each run to begin with a starting pistol.

And played to the James Bond theme too.

Is there any sport that would NOT be improved by this?

Curling - Imagine all the ankle injuries! 😱

At the risk of being serious, why isn't tug-o-war a proper olympic sport? It is after all a true trial of strength, skill and team work and based on a simple obvious premise. People have doubtless been doing tug-o-war for as long as there has been rope or knotted vines or whatever.

Might have to have total weight of team as an alternative format to a set number of huge blokes

I saw a "match" (contest? bout? tug?) out somewhere like Cambridgeshire a month back. Middle of nowhere, bunch of cars and tents in a field, and two teams heavin' and a-hollerin'.

Proper warmed my heart, made me proud to be British!

It reminds me of a BB (Boys Brigade) thing over 30 years ago now where it was officers vs boys.

The officers were near to a lamp post and secretly tied their end to it! 🤣

I was thinking more like 2mx2m fence panels, The tables in pro wrestling are much smaller. Like the unwildiness of a long sword, but in 2D.
