My commuter (2019 Boardman URB8.9) has Tektro disc brakes just reaching their first pad replacement, but taking it to a shop is not an option right now and I'm having trouble identifying the exact brake model so I can order the right replacement pads. The brakes only seem to be marked "R160 FM1.1" at the rear and "F160 FM1.1" at the front, with no sign of anything I recognise as a model name. Does anyone know exactly what they are and/or what pads they take? Thanks!

I've got some mechanical Tektro discs and didn't know the model. Just remove them (wheel off manoeuvre them out) and match them up with pictures on your chosen sales site. I found Decathlon had some,Tektro don't have a huge range. They may be the same as mine:

That marking is (I think) for the flat mount shim for 160mm rotors. Take a picture and post it and someone will be able to tell you.

Thanks. I found this when I searched too, but only on a site which said it was the 2020 spec and I wasn't sure if a detail like the exact brake mechanism would be the same: did you find a link to the 2019 one?

To the best of my knowledge Halfords sell a model for 2 years before replacing it with a new one.

I have a 2019 8.8HYB and it is still the current model and on sale in Halfords now

But do double check as they (and other manufacturers) have been known to swap components mid-product cycle. In fact, try emailing Boardman and asking directly if you're not sure. They've been pretty helpful in the past when I've been stumped by some of their weirder spec items.

Now positively identified: they are indeed HD-R310's and take F10BS pads. These seem to be rare enough that I can't find anyone supplying the Tektro originals in the UK: I've ordered some Noah and Theo ones but I hope they're not going to become hard to source in the future. eAnyway, thanks to all who helped!

EBC have these pads which appear to be compatible: https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/mountain-bike/tektro/hd-r310/10000309

Edited to add: if you do a Google search there's plenty of compatible pads available: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=t...XARxUIHefzDjQQ1QIoAHoECAsQAQ&biw=1760&bih=827

Those ebc pads appear to me to be too big for the tektro HD-R310 brakes.

I also have a Boardman URB8.9, and have measured the length of the space into which the pads must fit, and it is around 26 mm, the ebc pads are quoted at 29mm. Noah and Theo replacement pads appear to be the correct size.

Yep, the Noah and Theo ones I ordered turned out to fit fine, although I can't comment on longevity as I've only really used the bike just enough to bed them in. (It's my commuter and I've been working from home.....)
