I'd acquired two user accounts here to lurk with which I promptly forgot about/couldnt remember the name I'd picked so third time round I went with a shortened version of my real name. I tend to behave online exactly the same as in person so if you tracked me down I doubt there'd be much of a surprise really.

I'm DCLane on here and almost everywhere else. It'd just be confusing otherwise!

And yes, you'd find me pretty quickly. But I'm a fairly public figure anyway.

That's pretty much what happened to me. I'd like to change back to the first alias I had, but then nobody would know me. Except arallsop who for some odd reason does call me by my first forum name now and then, even though I only had it about a week, didn't post anything and at that time he'd never met me.... ?!

What happens when you become DSLane then? I've a good mind to reserve it now and sell it to you later!

Don't presume I'm a police officer  DCLane & Dewsbury on Google gets you an entirely different result. Oddly enough, as does my profile.

I'm an academic!

An academic? Dunce Cap Lane then!
Hey you lot! Here's a thread to really have a dig at 'Admin' (who has gone missing, presumed thread, so you can say what you like) and we are all busy talking about ourselves. Carry on, there's nothing unusual in that I suppose, but hmm...Ra Ra? A Rabbit maybe. I'm not sure.

David Lane is a fairly public street in Dewsbury. Is that you then?

If you've seen it the street's about 30 feet long with old-style cobbles and leads nowhere. It's not a 'street' it's a dark alley!

Mind you, that's better than David Lane in Nottingham, which is a red-light pick-up point. Given I was born in Nottingham it did once worry me about why/how my parents chose the name
