Hello number 112. It could be worse, number 1 could have us living in an artificial environment where one of the symbols of the environment is the bicycle.

I had looked at this orange symbol and wondered what it was all about

And at least cyclechat doesn't have people numbered or members who spend a lot of time hanging around in coastal resorts like this one never to escape after a few rounds of beer

**realisation dawns**

Be seeing you! Number 333

I like the anonymity of the avatar.
Having said that, I don't proffer any online persona, WYSIWYG. I chose Reggie Perrin simply because he portrays pretty much exactly how I am in real life ... we both work in the food industry as well. Whether I am a Fab Foodie is open to question, but the name was a workplace nickname which stuck.
On other forums I'm also FF, but on FB I'm something else!

Reiverlations of a bi-polar poster. You and Shaun will get along fine. He wants to be 'down with the 'hood' and hang out a bit and his alter ego smacks of pencils, rubbers and loads of bits of paper everywhere, hiding the glasses which should be on the end of his nose.
You, on the other hand are just playing at being a troublemaker to yourself!
By the way, an 'avatat' is the sort of thing that threebikesmcginty and fnaar have got.

I am turning into my avatar

I've only recently put an avatar up. Doesn't look like me, as I tend to ride bare-headed, and usually have my feet on the pedals. And more people know me as 'Clarion' than anything else. That's not a problem.

This subject caused some very serious and heated debate on another forum I use sometimes, with some users objecting to the anonymity of of usernames and adovcating that everyone should post under their full name (as some on that forum do). Others replied with various points that have already made and others (for example, suppose I registered as "Katherine Sutherland". That looks like I'm posting under my real name, but it is not my name, nor is it even closely related to my real name.)

I use fimm a lot on various forums. It is kind of related to my initials. I like usernames. I'm often intrigued by other people's usernames. Where did dellzeqq come from, for example?

I used to post in forums under my real, full name. Until I joined 419eater. A mod there quickly contacted me with all sorts of information he had managed to find out about me and advised that I use a unique name for any forum I used and generic, untraceable email account. As the purpose of that site is to tease criminals (not all of whome are based in Africa) it wouldn't do to have someone calling round in RL to ask for thier cash. This is the only place I am known as Touche.
