Jarrold's bike shop are doing a third off repairs so I took the tourer in for a Bronze Service.

"Computer's bust"

I said.

"Look, all the parts are present and the LCD screen works, but the speed and distance never changes, it's bust."

The assistant said:

"Your front wheel's on the wrong way round, the spoke sensor's on the wrong side."

Mind you, we've all done it. I had some brake and wheel problems with mine, nothing major but the bike just wasn't right. Then realised after a couple of weeks I had directional tyres and they were both on the wrong way round.

Yes, Kaipath, a poster in the window advertised a third off all repairs so I asked if it covered services and the short chap with a beard said yes, he'd honour the deal, so twenty notes for a full service and pannier racks fitted, should be ready this afternoon.

Similar comedy - my mate bought a MTB online recently. He chose to set it up himself, which surprised me, as he is not the most "handy" of people...

After he had set it up, he took it out for a ride and something didn't seem right - the brakes were the wrong way round.

At this point, he though that seeing as the shop it came from was only about 45 mins drive away, he would take it in for them to look at.

You may be able to guess what happened next, but, he took the bike in and explained that they had sent him a bike with the brakes the wrong way round...

The shop assistant, in what was by my mate's account, a pretty loud voice, explained that he had put the bars on the wrong way round! The tit!

And before anyone suggests it, my "mate", was a mate, not me!

The pros do it too - Ullrich rode a Xentis the wrong way round at the Deutschland Tour in 2005. Obviously the mechanic was blamed, but the rider should have noticed himself.
Some independent testers reckon it may have cost him the GC.

Took my commuter in for a service at lbs and was asked if I found the seat comfortable in that position to which I replied no I've had problems ever since I replaced the seat post to which the smug twat replied thats because you fitted the post back to front. My wife is still taking the piss 2 months later.
