And what's that in big letters on the sticker in his rear window?-

or do you mean the saab driver?
not very clear is it?
Sitting at the lights on the Bristol Road, a shiny motorbike beside me. Lights change and we pull off. Only to be met by a Saab estate turning right into our road after running a red light. Bike swerves to avoid him. I brake and stay behind. And what's that in big letters on the sticker in his rear window?-

There's no hope.
Virtual DBP said:well from the limited details above (and playing devil's advocate slightly), the biker sounds like an idiot for not anticipating/checking the junction for folk nipping through on amber/red.
obviously on the motorbike he is the fastest thing in the equation and arguably the most vulnerable (when you consider speed) so before you zoom off at the lights you make sure you are confident that nobody is going to do what the saab driver did.
so to the motorcyclist, awareness, anticipation and defensive riding should prevent you having to swerve to avoid people nipping through lights on amber/red.

Rather, from your assumptions,.....
FWIW we were half way across the junction, our light had been green for a couple of seconds (so think about how long the red had been there) and the bike came at us from the side.
The biker didn't zoom off. He was pretty much alongside me, and if you've seen my car you'll know that zooming isn't an option.
