Saab driver, with "think bike!" sticker in car, almost takes out a bike.

goo_mason said:Do you search for any thread that Mr P is on and automatically assume he's having a go at you? I know you and he seem to have regular 'discussions' on here, but really...
That's the weirdest, most paranoid posting I've ever seen. You need to start taking your meds again!![]()
very-near said:MrP has got a fixation for motorcyclists and 4x4 drivers. You'd know that already because of the last thread you posted on regarding 4x4s.
Now before you roll your eyes, take another look at the thread and perhaps you might see why I get defensive at the continual attacks on the record of 4x4 safety. These attacks are just unfounded bollocks which are rooted in prejudice for the sort of people you might imagine make up the ownership. You are actually at a substantially less risk of getting injured by one than a regular car in the urban environment.

No. I have an issue with all dangerous road users. If they happen to be 4x4 drivers or bikers who ignore speed limits then so be it.
This thread was about the irony of the described situation.
This thread is about a Saab driving biker! What have 4x4s got to do with it?????
While your link is completely irrelevant to this thread, other than more evidence of your paranoia, you've missed the critical part of the research linfy-
If you're hit by a 4x4 you're more likely to get more hurt. Yet more evidence of the inappropriateness of many 4x4s.
You really didn't want to post that link.
goo_mason said:Unless I'm very much mistaken, the thread's about a Saab driver with a THINK BIKE! sticker in the back window, not 4x4's.
Ahhh.... Condor!![]()
Not at all. Get hit by a large 4x4 and it'll hurt more than if the driver was at the wheel of a normal car. You're more likely to be killed or seriously injured.
So, if those who drive 4x4s but don't need to drove cars that were more appropriate for their needs, then the roads would be safer. As suggested by the research you link to.
What don't you understand about that?
And I believe the phrase you were looking for was "clutching at straws".
very-near said:How can you be sure that the driver put the sticker on the car ?
Right
Saab driver nearly takes out a motorcyclist.
Saab driver has THINK BIKE! sticker in rear window.
Any more comments on this ironic incident?
very-near said:It is a bit of a stab in the dark isnt it Paulie, it has been proven that 4x4s are driven with more consideration than others - no accident, no injury.
