Now a vital technical point. Are the prepositions the correct ones? Can one be on or off the Internet? One may be on or off the counter top or chair or the bike. But the Internet?

If the person who has said that he will not look at or have anything to do with the internet, does infact look at said internet, even though someone else has actually conjured up said internet, then that can be construed as looking at the offending item. And therfore he is in fact on the internet. Sorted.
