To give an anoraks view the Class 37 has been in service 1960 and most remain with their original engine. The engine doesn't actually drive the loco, this is done through axle mounted electric motors. The one in the first pic is in 'Dutch' engineers yellow/grey with 'domino' head code boxes.I'm not too gened up on UK stuff as I'm more into US railways.
If anyone is interested I'm a closet railway modeller. I use a German made controller to operate my trains through Wi-Fi by a app on my smartphone/tablet. You can also use a facsimile of the drivers cab to operate the loco's controls prototypically. Great fun.
