.. for the rest of your life, who would they be? I'm still thinking about mine, but in there would certainly be:

R.E.M.
Oasis

I haven't got very far. I'll add shortly.

How about yours?

Manet, but before he went electric.
REM
Banco de Gaia
Sarah Mclachlan
Struggling now....

Colne, Lancs
Oscar Peterson
John Coltrane
Mozart
Vaughan Williams
Bjork
Lou Reed/The Velvet Underground (can they count as one artist? Please?)
Enablers
God Speed! You Black Emperor
Sufjan Stevens
Schubert

Ideally more classical and jazz would be in there, but I need the variation. Sufjan's on there due to the fact that he's got 48 states left to go in his an album for each state of America project - so, 50 albums would be a good catalogue to have at any time.

A agree with the idea of variation.

Also, opportunity to experience more music, so I'd include Led Zeppelin as I feel I'm woefully unaware of their music.

I'd add Ben Folds. Because I like it (can I have the solo and band stuff please??)

I'd also be tempted with the Beatles and REM as they have both a wide range, and a long list, of potential entries.

Maybe U2....

At this stage, without giving it too much thought, I'd go for 'Various Artists'. They were always good!
