I didn't laugh, I was rather concerned for the dog.

Me too. I always seem to respond like that to such clips. Even when I know the animal/person must be ok. It's just gut reaction for me to think 'oh god, I hope they are ok!'

I think it's just the other side of the same reaction. Some respond with laughter. Others, like me, with concern. As a result, I'm used to being accused of having no sense of humour!
