0 CC'ers on my ignore list, well so far...

The ignore button doesn't "ignore". It's an off switch. I ignore the vacuous drivel spouted by nobbers in the pub, for example, but I can't turn them off. They just get ignored. I don't "ignore" anyone in CC but I do pay no regard to vacuous drivel.

Unless it's my vacuous drivel. Then I crave "likes".

I wouldn't give someone the satisfaction of letting them know when they are irritating... it tends to be a fleeting moment anyway. I'm surprised how vitriolic some people are about others at times, particularly in C&D when they start discussing someone as if they aren't there... but that's just rude ignorance.
CC is a good place!

I don't have an ignore list either. I do have, in my head, a list of CC's whose posts I find unnecessarily spiky, rude or irritatingly smug. One reason I only look in C&D now and then. I do so only to confirm my prejudices.

I can be the most tiresome, juvenile and self-regarding git on these pages and it is a matter of honour for me that a few members have announced that I'm on their ignore list. One told me several times, suggesting that there was a degree of caprice at work.

If I weren't me, I'd put myself on 'ignore'. As I am, I can't. Nobody else is tiresome enough, so I have no ignore list.

There are cliquey, preening tossers on here but there is some joy in learning from the masters. If I had a clique I would be one myself. Or rather worse.

Not really. It's a bit weird on the new threads where it just lists the latest poster as "Person on your ignore list" or something like that.

I don't understand that at all. If you're ignoring someone, why does the forum software tell you about posts from people you're ignoring? (albeit without mentioning their username)

CA&D: Thinks it's the senior common room of some august seat of learning, but in truth it is Year 5 having break indoors because of the weather.

And I say that as one of the most puerile contributors.

ahh I see its here, I do my browsing by pressing recent posts, I've seen some of the headlines like immigration and just feared it was a Daily Mail-esque-argument-fest and avoided.

I've got one person on my ignore list after I realised that every single reply on one thread was trolling and contributed nothing. Trouble is, when I see the ignored contest message, I can't resist seeing what it says!
