Filtering carefully thru' the stationary traffic behind another bike leaving a sensible gap, which is suddenly filled by another cyclist, swerving in front of me into what was clearly, by any basic etiquette, 'my space'. An oldish feller too - 50s? - not some gormless boy-racer. I muttered 'tosspot' just loud enough to be sure he'd heard. Then deliberately didn't RLJ at the next lights (against my normal practise ) just so I'd have a chance to leave him for dead when they changed. Which I proceeded to do. Tosser.

Think calm thoughts swee'pea99. It has been my experience of late to encounter more inconsideration from cyclists on the road than from motorists.

You need to 'deliberately' not RLJ, Swee'pea? Naughty!

Perhaps like the old ladies in the supermarket, he thought queues didn't apply to him.

Yeah, funny, it's not ok to push in, but it is ok to normally jump red lights, which is about as pushing in as you can get.

18 years I have... I still count 50 as young(ish) - plus you're riding a bike, that takes years off your age, and puts years on your life.... (unless you get hit of course)

far too many cyclists do that swerve between lanes without looking, I get maybe one a week that relys on my awareness to prevent a collision, they usually apologis when they actually notice they should have been in an accident

+1

Maybe he had seen you RLJ prior and wanted to make a point?

The crux of your argument appears to be that you were annoyed by the other guy compromising your safety by pushing into the space you had left between you and the next cyclist.. fair enough BUT how does your concern for your safety then allow you to deduce that RLJ is safe? That's a peculiar logic by any standard. RLJ is illegal and you compromise your safety and other road users by doing it.
