Should I ebay my 18 volume Illustrated Encyclopoedia of Aircraft? I collected it over four years, a magazine at a time, when I was a teenager. I am reluctant to get rid of it, but it takes up space and TBH, I rarely ever read it. Even when I was collecting it I found it a bit boring. The pictures were good, but it was usually a bit dry and technical. I was hoping it would read something like:

"A group of five Beaufighters launched torpedoes at the German battle cruiser, Der Graf Spee, scoring two hits and causing it to list fatally. One Beaufighter was shot down by the ship's anti-aircraft guns, while another two were badly damaged on the way home after they were jumped by a group of Ju88s."

Usually it was more like:

"Early Beaufighters were equipped with elevators set horizontally, but from mark 2 onwards were given a 10 degree dihedral slant to improve stability on landing."

Your call.

I've got the full 6 or 8 folders worth of 'Techno Quest' from when I was about 10, used to read each issue and put it in the folders but by the time my kids are old enough for it, it's going to be out of date.

Last bound set went for £25 after a few attempts at selling - may as well keep it and read it when you are old and like the factual bits.

My dad flew in the war, and when he died a few years back we donated all his logs, journals, photos and official correspondance to the museum at Elvington. They were delighted because it helped provide a context for the hardware they own.

Yes. It's not really the same as TVC's stuff which is a first hand historical source with very personal associations. Unique and irreplaceable.
