Crackle

Ooops. I misread the instructions I got. I've taken double the dose of diazepam I should have. I now have to stay up a few more hours to make sure I'm OK and don't fall over dizzy. I do feel 'very' relaxed.

Hello Lisa, no chance of climbing in the bath, none at all, maybe tomorrow.

Just in case you did not get enough hugs from Lisa :hugs:

You are not safe to be left on your own are you? Just how heavy was that Mtb magazine?

If you have taken too much diazepam, I would stay out of the bath, if I was you.

Would you like some strong tea and biscuits, very light ones?
 ooops wrong thread

Not biscuits but I do suddenly have the munchies. I'm about to raid crackle2's Coco Rocks. All hugs appreciated.

Very sorry to hear your woes. Backs are bastards - you have my sympathies. Haven't read the whole thread, but I'm sure others have got there first with hot baths and big doses of ibuprofen *and* big doses of paracetemol. It's ok to mix the two, and they sort of complement each other, plus if there's anything muscular about it - and it sounds like there might be - ibuprofen's anti-inflammatoryness can help. Don't bother with Nurofen or anything - it's all generic - just get 400s from Boots and gobble 'em like Smarties. Good luck.

You have my sympathy. I knackered my back, big-time, 18 years ago. I narrowly escaped going "under the knife" through the good work of the physiotherapists, and have been very careful ever since. Every once in a while, I get a relapse, the last being on Monday this week when I leaned into the back of the boot of the car to retrieve something. Ouch! I broke the rules.

Take some ibuprofen, stick a hot water bottle against your back, and try and keep your back mobile by doing stretching and twisting excercises. ( My brother-in -law, a doctor, told me this yesterday). Most importantly, get to see your GP, ASAP. I left mine for far too long when I first had the crisis, and it really did me no favours at all.

Good luck, and best wishes.

swee'pea99 beat me to it!

One last thing, Crackle...

You have to be a bit careful with the hot water bottle... A few years ago, and in pain, I put a very hot one against my back, and went to sleep. In the morning, it had left some bright red track marks on my bum which stayed there for weeks.

I got some very odd looks in the mens' changing room at the local swimming pool as I was mistaken for some kind of spanking enthusiast.

I'm kind of hoping that tomorrow will see a big improvement. Starting to feel quite spaced out now.

LOL!
When I had my back spasms and was prescribed Diazepam, I was already on Prozac... what a great week! I don't know what happened... and I didn't care :laugh::becool:
