Sounds like a bad end to the year with everything piling on top of you.

Sorry I can't help with the ride ... I can understand the feeling of it being too much effort to do anything - and why you need someone to give you that kick up the backside just to get out - those first few steps are really hard to take yourself - wish I was nearer to help.

You've had a bum few months and no mistake!

But bear up - you wouldn't be the first CycleChat member to recover from a series of disasters at least partly from getting back on a bike. I really hope things pick up for you.

Worcester is a bit of a trek for me, but if you get no offers before then, I have a bit of work to do down your way in a week or two and an afternoon out on the bike would suit nicely.

Sorry to hear of the bad news Debian, all I can offer at the moment is to say, get on your bike as the weather is improving, ride the miles. This may have a soothing effect on you and you may be able to get things into perspective.

Glad to hear from you as that shows you are on the way back. I hope things improve sooner rather than later.

A quick look on the members map shows 2 members close to Worcester porteous and bianchi1. A quick pm might be useful to you.

Wish I was closer as I've been through similar situations in the past both with work and relationship. Hope we hear more from you soon.

Best wishes Pete.

I'm not too far down the road from you Debian. Don't think I'm doing anything Sunday either and could easily spare a few hours for a spin around Worcester. PM me if that's any good to you.

I have been somewhere like you are now Debian and living inside that glass jar is hard work with everything else seemingly on the otherside of the glass, the important thing is to do what you are doing by talking about it and not avoiding people, keep that up and you will find the glass wall soon disappears, if I am in your neck of the woods in the next couple of weeks I will drop you a pm and we can take a ride.

Debian, you've had a shocking time of it, and as others as said, if it helps, you need to know there are those of us who have been in the same dark places as you have. You do however seem to be on the first few rungs to helping yourself back up, and I wish you every best wish going. Recognising when the black dog has come to stay is a crucial part of the process, and you really need to be able to challenge that inner voice of self doubt which starts nagging at you when things seem darker.

I've had a very similar few months and though I can't offer a bike ride in the near future, you are more than welcome to ring me for a chat if you ever need to. PM me and I'll let you have a number. Don't think I'm being weird, but someone threw me a similar offer a months or two ago, and where I can't repay him, at least I can pay it forward.

Best wishes Debian (from another Pete!). Really sorry to hear how cruel life can be to some people. The world is full of this stuff and I don't know what it is 'right and proper' to say...

Like so many others, in this huge collection of forummers from all across the country and abroad, I'm too far away for a meeting. Otherwise I'd be most willing. I hope you do manage to fix up with some ride company.

Funny thing, I assumed you were much younger. That comes of looking at avatars! To hear of this sort of stuff happening to one of my generation, drives the message home even more.
