New girlfriend lives here and I'm there a lot at the minute.

Would be great to here from anyone who fancies getting together for a ride (so to speak) or could recommend any decent routes/trails

MTB or Road... I'd say I'm around intermediate level and really looking to improve!

EDIT... I'm in the South Derbyshire/East Staffs and North West Leicestershire a lot at the minute as well if anyone fancies it!

Contrary to my profile info, I have not been doing paleo, eating clean or anything that is remotely good for me. This place was a great source of inspiration (and distraction) when I was here last and I'm hoping for more of the same.

Got myself an added six stone to shift, at the order of my GP. Hearing a doctor say it rather than just thinking about it myself has really got me on track with it and has shocked me into doing something serious about it.

I have however abandoned the gym due to the expense and general hassle of it all. I'll join somewhere much cheaper and less snobby in due course, but for the time being, cycling is gonna be the main focus, along with a bit of (sorry) running. My aim is to have the extra weight off in twelve months and to get a big pat on the back from all concerned :smile:

We had the whole BMI debate whilst I was there with a knee problem, and he's told me no running etc... But has cycling and swimming are fine.

Despite the whole BMI and all the scepticism around it, it's doesn't mask the fact that I am a good six stone over weight, drink too much and I know that I have to do something for my own good!

Absolutely. Just gonna watch what I eat and make sure there is a calorie deficit. I've done it before so I know I can do it again. :smile:
