If you want go secondhand
Try lfgss.com some users not only in London so you may be fortunate

+1 for second hand.

Fuji Feather, Specialized Langster and the Giant Bowery are all decent bikes, in that order too IMO.

I've just sold my Fuji Feather, great bike but I an only ride one bike at once

PS: yes Argos do cheap ones but they weigh a tonne :surrender: Create bikes are also a serious budget brand that IMO I'd give a wide berth too.

The bike whose link you posted looks resonable value. But are you sure you want a fixie? Have you ridden one for any length of time? You might end up cursing Henri Desgrange as you struggle up that hill!

A cheap but heavy SS/Fixed which might be of interest is the Viking Road FX/SS (Circa £175). I've got one and done a few centuries on it and it is my used and abused commuter. For its price I've been quite surprised with it, the tyres lasted 2555miles before p'turing, they probably could have lasted longer but they are a bit of a biatch to remove/fit so I put new tyres on and almost exactly at 3,000 mile the freewheel unscrewed and I had to flipped the SS to Fixed. With maintenance I doubt it would have happened.

However, I seen a Spesh Langster for £160 last week 2nd hand you'll get much better vfm in the 2nd hand market.

Can vouch for the Revolution Track. Got the 2012 model in their new year sale and I love it. The simplicity of single speed is truely awesome. Pedal and go. Now being able to conquer my local climbs, I have come to the conclusion that the hills in Britain aren't dramatic enough to warrant gears. Maybe this is just where I live. While I was waiting for the singlespeed to be couriered from uni, I tried out a friends Bianchi expecting it to feel like a Ferrari but it was noisy, a bit clunky and I had to keep thinking about what gear to get it in. Needless to say, I couldn't wait to get back on the Revolution Track. Hope you get the bike your looking for!
