I did my BEng with the OU after 10 years out of studying. Took me 10 years (changed jobs and wives etc). I am now 2 years into a 5 year Part Time MSc. Only advice I can offer (on a do as I say not as I do basis) is try to plan out the assignments so you don't have to take panic holidays from work to hit the deadline

Also don't be disheartened if you only get 60% for what you thought was a good essay, apparently thats how they mark post grad, although that just be my selected seat of learning.

Very best of luck

I have to say I still enjoy learning stuff.

Did an OU module a few years ago, and have done 'work' type stuff (PRINCE 2 Project Management, ITIL etc.) more recently but have been missing it a bit of late.

Signed up to do Sign Language a couple of months ago (which I am really enjoying) and start another OU module for Java Programming in January.

Not too fussed about whether the modules count towards a qualification or not, truth be told, but I suspect that if I found out that completing a few more (along with credit being transferred for stuff I've done elsewhere) might get me a Masters then I'd probably sign up for them.

I have enough letters after my name that I don't use, but a few more wouldn't go amiss.

Cool wishing you luck, I went back to college in September, I'm appreciation it more this time around. Doing more work too, don't think I could do the course part-time though, its a struggle to fit all the course work in to a week with 17 hours of lectures and practicals.

Just enjoy your study time.

Good luck ... I did an MA part-time in 95-97 ... was working Mon-Fri 9-5, 1 kid when I started, another born during course, I finished in shortest possible time and got a distinction for the whole course. I was dead chuffed, and dead proud of my efforts
