I heard this one in an advert but it is very true. When people say 'I literally...' For instance 'I literally had egg on my face'. Well no you didnt actually.
It all started during WW11 when we caught "OK" from the Americans.
Nowadays people say "I just had my lunch" instead of "I have just had my lunch" or "I just lost my 'phone" instead of "I have just lost..." and yes, the "he's gone down the road and he's crashed his car" habit is irritating as well.
Not to mention people who say "like" every six words... "I was... like... cool about it."
Someone more knowledgeable about grammer might be able to tell us the difference between 'he came' and 'he's come' in that respect. It's a sort of presentising the past, if I may use such a dreadful made up word.
