... after having spent a month in South America. Cars, bikes and lorries constantly come from all directions at high speed and will pass on whichever side is quicker for them regardless of whether there is oncoming traffic or a blind bend - I had one guy so desperate to proceed that he decided to undertake me even tho I had just overtaken a lorry and had started (and was indicating) to move back in. Also, if you're driving at the speed limit and someone wants to overtake you with oncoming traffic, you're supposed to drive on the verge to let them past rather than make them wait until it is safe.
Even tho I was driving, I suffered from some terrible overtakes, close passes and left hooks, so hats off to the cyclists there, tho for some reason the cyclists seem to prefer to ride into oncoming traffic (perhaps they prefer to see death coming?).
