I live in Cornwall, it always rains.

When it's not raining it's foggy, well it was when I lived on bodmin moor,
All the old biddies at the doctors used to moan about their aching joints as it's so damp

My avatar picture shows me after a year of cycling 5 or 6 times a week. We'd had a mild winter followed by a good spring and a 'proper' sunny summer. I weighed 12 stone 10 pounds and I was fit. I was romping up climbs in a 39*21 gear that have me grovelling in 30*28 now.

I now weigh 16 stone. Every year since 2007, I have crossed my fingers and hoped for a good summer to lift my spirits and encourage me to get back on my bike but the summers just are not happening. Well, strictly, we are having little premature summers in the spring which promise much but then fail to deliver. I am so depressed by the whole thing that when we finally do get a sunny day, I often don't even bother to open the curtains.

If this is a sign of climate change, then I am going to have to consider moving to another country because I can't take much more of this damp greyness!

Prince Charles is in town today to see the aftermath of the recent flooding and it is in danger of happening again!

Er, that's a 'yes' Paul - my cycling has almost been terminated by the crappy weather! Only CC forum rides are keeping me going.

See i'm not going to say i'm not a racist, in fact i'd say quite the opposite, i'm exceptionally racist, i hate ALL races equally, including my own.
its the only way to be both fair and avoid confusion.

There was a large yellow glowing ball spotted in the sky over Leicester yesterday. Investigations are under way, when we discover what it was I'll let you know.

Oaf on a Bike
I think some of it is the expectation it might stop at some point. I only really ride my bike for leisure/fitness rides and short utility rides to shops, so the weathers made it less enjoyable and im less inclined to go out. Its also impossible to motivate other people to come cycling with me when they look outside and it looks miserable.

The warm weather in March had me doing well over 100 miles a week (quite a lot for me), April, May, June has been back to around 40 miles a week. I run too so that takes up some of my exercise slots

The winds probably more annoying though, sat upright its like ploughing through custard. Although it has let me get some nice Strava times with 25mph tailwinds
