...Im simply re-apraising realistic aspirations regarding the mileage ticker below.

Or to put it another way, I have changed my mileage goal from 2500 to 2000.

Changing jobs and going from 4 day a week, to 5 days on different shifts didnt help, neither did the rainy season from April to August. Commuting is out of the question wih a 90 mile round trip.

I am determind to make the 2k for the year though!

I refuse to change mine....
I shall leave it at the base of my postings where it continues to mock my new years misplaced optimism.

Next year however.....
(if people I know can please stop injuring themselves, dropping dead or otherwise preventing me from riding).

I've wondered about the there things in folks sigs, I'll have to look them up.

When did you set your goals and when are they supposed to end?

Goals are for each year and they can be set at any time. Have a look here how to add one: http://www.cyclechat.net/threads/ho...og-ticker-in-my-signature.91272/#post-1633543

Paul - I've just upped my target from 5000 to 6000 so there'll be Secteur doing the extra miles

You should be able to make the 2000 though.

My target for this year was 4000 (I didn't know about that counter thingy), due to work I seam to have got stuck on 2800, so I think realisticly I should scale down to 3500. I'm not altering next years goal of 4500 (it's already set up on my Garmin connect).

Now must go find that counter thingy.

My mileage is down this year, due to the weather. I don't mind the cold, or rain (much) and we haven't had much heat to contend with but it's been windy which has scuppered a lot of weekends when I would have done longer runs. So, last year I did 2800 but this year I'm at 2000 with 2 and a half months to go, so it's unlikely I'll match last year.

Go for it !
I know what you mean, what with a new child at the start of the year and a lot of 4 day weeks over the last couple of months i dropped 1k miles off my yearly target , i was hoping for 6000 miles this year but it is going to be an unreachable target.
