Whilst I'm sure it was well intentioned and probably done on impulse, it really isn't he place of a cyclist to manage and direct traffic especially when
not wearing your blue cape and red boots.

An emergency vehicle was blocked in and the OP took it on himself to resolve the situation... which he did.

It's a grey area. Yes technically he broke at least 2 laws. However, morally I do believe he did the correct thing in helping unblock a police car on an emergency call.

I have to say that it's a bit of a "Brainy Smurf" kind of behaviour. And putting you at risk to help someone else is really not a smart idea. It's a bit like trying to save someone from drowning when you're not good at swimming. But then again, it worked, and too often do we hear about people in trouble with the crowd doing nothing but taking off their smartphones to make a picture. And everybody deals differently in a given situation. So... live and let live, right?
