I'm not surprised bus drivers occasionally get irate.

I imagine not being let out slows down and annoys bus drivers a lot. I nearly always let them out and usually get the customary thumbs up out of the window. It doesn't slow me down much and hopefuly ensures I get a bit more room/respect off them. What annoys me is when I stop to let them out and a stream of cars carries on around the outside. Meaning I get held up for doing the right thing, and the bus gets delayed further.

I echo these comments. It especially annoys me at bus stop near traffic lights or something where the cars have to immediately stop, usually they're only half way past the bus and block the road for everyone.

Oi I'm not a pleb thank you very much!

I remember being at school in Form 1, and a group of us were using the word pleb quite liberally, when the Latin master stopped us and gave us a lecture on the origins of the word. LOL!

LOL! I know what you mean. I'm usually well out in primary or further when I stop to let a bus out, which means the cars can't get past. Every now and then I catch a car driver making annoyed faces because of it.

That's exactly what I do - the bus drivers are always very appreciative though!

I would have to say the bus drivers round here are pretty good to be honest (though they have all just got big shiney sparkly new busses to drive, maybe that makes a difference too?!), they're always at least polite, usually very friendly too.

My one beef is they are a company who have adopted the 'exact change' system, which I loath. To be honest I'm not that convinced it speeds things up that much, as rather than waiting for change, you're waiting for people to find the exact fare instead. And what other shop or service demands exact change off it's customers?! A few years back a new bus company started up using old London Routemasters - THAT was the best way of speeding up loading! Sadly all gone now though :-(
