Plumped for a Countour HD with a vented helmet mount. I'm not overly concerned with close passes but in the last year and a half of cycling have had 2 instances of feeling like my life was being put in danger (once with a head on with a bus - another with an impatient lorrry driver). In both cases I've had to take evasive action. At least now I'll have evidence of the poor driving involved in any more incidents.

Of course this now means than the camera will act as a lucky talisman and I'll never see such an incident again! In either case- it was worth the money!!

A great thing about cameras is you can review your own riding style and improve.

None of us are perfect and i've certainly learnt a few things over the years.

Since I got my Contour HD, I have had very few instances where I have posted them on the internet. I still keep my own records, but I am now posting things which people might enjoy (other cyclists doing good, etc).

I have learnt that I am not shoulder checking as much as I thought I was. I have also adjusted my positions through pinch points. I also need to be making more stronger shoulder checks, as I am just flicking my head back now and then.

It is brilliant on your head as it really gives the perspective of what you are looking at, rather than what is just in front of you.
