After a few weeks of mild but long lasting headaches and blurred vision I finally bit the bullet and got my eyes tested. Age related astigmatism in one eye, so reading glasses it is from now on. The first sign of ageing knackeredness creeping in.

I have been wearing reading glasses for several years all due to working too much on computers at work.

The optician did say that 42 is the prime age for eyesight to start to decline which was about right for me. However I'm 48 now and have yet to raise the strength.

Perhaps that comes when you are really old and 50

After working 30 years in engineering, reading verniers and micrometers, I needed to wear reading glasses when I reached 50. Apart from that and an overlarge prostate ( under control) , all is well. Can't stop ageing so I make the most of what I have.
