Serbia didn't do it for me, I was pleased when exiting the country. Have a good trip.

Belgrade isn't doing it for me. I reached point where the Black Sea was not reachable within the allocated time frame and decided to make the remainder of my time two city breaks in Belgrade and Budapest. it has been the least enjoyable cycling that I've had in Europe - flat, billiard table flat in fact. It was like Groundhog Day every day was the same, every village was the same and the salvation was the locals who chatted with me. The Serbs in Belgrade and Novi Sad on the other hand have been very reserved and miserable.

It's a good job that I'm comfortable in my own skin else I'd be surrendering to their despondency.

Belgrade promises more than it delivers and there's a veneer of affluence in the central shopping area but I went to two major museums to find that they were both closed for an extended amount of time for refurbishment and I discovered from a British couple that the Natural history museum is currently a single room....
I've never met a nice Serb.
I've met three. It seems that they must be atypical.

Oh dear. I didn't want to say anything but I'm not surprised. I also much prefer Hungary and Budapest.
