My target is London to Brighton next year. If anyone can give me and tips or experience on the safest ways to build stamina I would appreciate it.

Just keep riding the bike :smile: Once you're reasonably comfortable with a distance, extend it for the next ride. 2 or 3 rides a week is all it takes.

Don't worry about speed at all, just cover the distance and throw in some hills.

Well done from me as well. Thats a lot further and quicker than what i could muster on my first outing. I think i managed 5 miles in about an hour, and was only sick once.
6 months on and i now do 20 miles plus in about 2 hours mixed on and off road (mainly off), and don't even break sweat, just get disappointed that evening daylight is starting to shorten and i can't do more. wont venture onto my local roads unless i have to, too many fast dual carriageways with high speed traffic, and slow dual carriageways that idiots go too fast on, cycle lanes blocked by parked cars.

just been out on my bike tonight and managed to clock up 26.35 kilometres and average speed of 17kmph. This may not seem like much to some but considering I am a fat unfit chap who has enjoyed the good life a bit to much I am extremely please with myself.
